I'm sure if you're a speaker or vocalist, I'm positive that you've had some sort of illness preventing you at some time or another from performing your task. If not, you will surely have it happen to you during some crucial moment in your speaking/singing career. You can avoid some of the damage that you may encounter while you speak or sing by warming up your voice properly. The following exercises are for the experience speaker or vocalist and should not be attempted by the average "Joe" or "Jane" for that matter. I'm kidding. Anyone can try them... they're just mixtures of words and or sounds for goodness-sake. Say them however you like. Find your own rhythm and speed (better to increase speed gradually) with each warm-up and remember them. Say them each time you'd like to warm-up before a speech or performance. Some of them may look stupid to you at first, but they all have simple and/or complex patterns that can be easy to remember when you need to warm-up your vocal chords.

blah-blah, Anticipator

beckoned Becky, boasted Bobby, believed babbling Brooke.

Can't David Eat Fish, Gail?

Honduras has horrible hamburgers.

In Jeffrey Kemp's last meeting, no one presentation remained solid.

Trust the tongue twisters to tickle that tongue.

Ugly vampires wear extraordinarily yellow zippers.

Anyway, much success on your Public Speaking and Voice Adventures.

Don't forget to breathe properly.
Use good diction, even if you're reciting a part that doesn't require it.
Differentiate between your "D" and your "T." (very, very common mistake.)
Make each statement and every stanza stand out.
